REVALIDATION OF RECORDS

The Medical and Dental Council has recorded a worrying number of incidents of attempted impersonation and unscrupulous renewal of licences for deceased practitioners. As part of measures to curb this development and ensure that only duly registered practitioners are practising and have access to the practitioner’s portal, the Council will embark on a revalidation exercise to update practitioners’ records with the Council.

Effective 1st August 2024, practitioners will be required to provide new and recent passport-size photographs (white background only) to the Council, update their personal information to reflect their current professional status, and provide the name, address, and contact details of their next of kin. Practitioners have up to 31st October 2024 to complete this exercise, after which the portals of those who have not updated their records will be disabled.

Subsequently, practitioners will be required to revalidate their records every three (3) years.

Practitioners can revalidate their records through the practitioners’ portal (portal.mdcghana.org) or visit any of the Council’s offices in Accra, Kumasi, Koforidua, Takoradi, Tamale, and Sunyani for assistance.
